BTS sets new record on YouTube with 450 million views of Dynamite

Global K-Pop band BTS have broken yet another YouTube record this week after their music video for “Dynamite” amassed 450 million views in the shortest time ever.

In fact, BTS’ new music video has become the fastest viewed music video of all time by a Korean band having debuted the new track back in the summer on August 21. The previous record was held by BLACKPINK for smash hit “How you Like That” which managed to attain the viewing figure in less than two months.

For BTS, this is their 10th music video to have managed to get more than 450 million views, with the Korean K-Pop band taking the world by storm.

And in another sign of BTS’ global music dominance, their record label Big Hit Entertainment launched a successful IPO in September which secured the 7 members a fortune, all becoming overnight multimillionaires. The IPO was South Korea’s biggest public listing in 3 years and caps off a sensational year for the band. The label is valued at $4.1 billion and with a global K-pop appetite showing no limits, more artists from South Korea are set to make their mark on the world stage thanks to the viral success of the genre, and its impact culturally – especially in western countries.
