Irish duo Dave Browne and Dave Rooney, also known as the Black Donnelly’s, have been helping to raise money for charity through cashless tipping.

The award-winning music band recently performed at RiRa in Mandalay Place in Las Vegas for a 9/11 affiliated nonprofit – Tunnel to Towers Foundation.

During their latest performance, the band was able to get audience tips thanks to a new service offered by justTip, that’s helping musicians earn more revenue and share proceeds of their gigs to their favorite charities.

Following the shocking events on September 11, 2001, the Tunnel To Towers Foundation charity was born, with its mission to help provide mortgage-free homes to Gold Star and fallen first responder families with young children.

Having traveled across all 50 U.S. states, the Black Donnelly’s, who are also Guinness World Record holders, tapped into their loyal fan base to give back at their latest concert.

Teaming up with an Irish tech startup, the duo were able to integrate tipping into their gig with ease, that allowed audience members to participate in the fundraiser while also supporting the band.

Following the impact of the pandemic on the music industry, cashless tipping has become a safer, more preferred method for audiences to support their favorite artists. For musicians to earn tips, the use of tech and frictionless payments has become a game-changer, allowing fans to participate, without the hassle of setting up complex ticketing systems.

With evolving consumer preferences, Gen-Z and Millennial consumers are leading the cashless payments revolution with more than 7 in 10 consumers using a smartphone to make online purchases.

For artists and bands such as the Black Donnelly’s, the use of cashless tipping and mobile payments is now a must-have, and as music events return to the big stage in 2022, cashless tipping is about to become mainstream.
